Here we have a nicely done, and brand new LNER Thompson A1/1. Built to LBSC's well proven 'Heilan Lassie' design, this is a pretty reasonable representation of the 1945 rebuild by Thompson of Gresley's original A1 'Great Northern'. So that's what most builders tend to go with in terms of names. But Thompson then used the template for his further rebuilds, The P2s, P1s and others creating a lovely little group of names to pick from for locomotives with mostly cosmetic and superficial detail differences. Things like 'Wolf of Badenoch', 'Steady Aim', 'Honeyway' and 'Heighland Chieftan' all become fair game!
Back to the model though. This is a well made loco, with the hoped for three methods of getting water in. There is an injector hidden under the footplate with it's overflow routed so that you can see it when driving. The loco has an axle pump and footplate mounted bypass fed from two large axle pumps, and of course there is the emergency hand pump in the tender. Lubrication is mechanical and as usual hidden under the front running boards. As is usual with LBSC's Heilan Lassie, this is a full 3 cylinder machine so she should run very smoothly. The boiler is silver soldered copper, is very tidily made, and as with the vast majority of our models, can go with a full hydraulic test certificate and fresh steam test ready to play.

Happy Reading!
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get! We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
